Iggy Azalea sued by American Express for an unpaid balance of $300,000

American Express have reportedly slapped Iggy Azalea with a $300k (£229k) lawsuit over a credit card bill.
The 27-year-old is said to have been a bit too Fancy and wracked up a bill of $229,147.81 (£175,206.42k) for goods and services she’s purchased over the last two years, in documents obtained by The Blast show. The lawsuit was filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court with a claim that the singer has also gone $250k (£191k) over her card limit. Not a great couple of years financially for the Fancy singer, who was also hit by a $400k (£305k) tax lien in 2016. However, she claimed on Twitter the problem had arisen because she opted to pay her taxes monthly instead of paying one lump sum.
She posted: ‘Peep the way when one thing happens media scrambles to keep adding on to the storyline, like a soap opera. ‘They exaggerate everything. the IRS gave the option to pay them monthly or lump sum. i picked monthly, who wouldn’t?’ Iggy recently sold the house she shared with former fiance Nick Young at a $200k (£153k) loss. She sold it for $3.25m having bought it from Selena Gomez in 2014.
She said at the time: ‘I moved house and sold my cars, because now I live in a smaller house and I only have the one car garage and I don’t want to leave them out on the street. ‘Now I just live in a regular three-bedroom house and have one car.’ Iggy has most recently been working on a new album, ‘Digital Distortion’, which was due for release in June but has gone through a number of delays and currently has no new release scheduled.
