Dry night announced for Dubai

Dubai will observe a dry night this weekend, from 6.30pm on Friday, August 9 to 7.30pm on Saturday, August 10 to mark Arafat Day.

All licensed venues in the emirate will have to refrain from serving alcohol during that period, according to a circular issued by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTM) to hotels and restaurants across the emirate.
The annual gathering on Mount Arafat falls on Saturday, August 10, this year, with August 11 marking the first day of Eid Al Adha.
Public and private sector workers in the UAE will celebrate Eid Al Adha with holidays from Saturday, August 10 until Tuesday, August 13. Work will resume on Wednesday, August 14.
