The Sultan of Brunei has called for 'Islamic teachings to grow stronger' as new sharia laws that punish gay sex and adultery with death by stoning came into force today, Wednesday, April 03, 2019.
TV show queen Ellen DeGeneres who is married to Hollywood actress, Portia de Rossi went online to call for the boycott of hotels owned by the Sultan of Brunei worldwide.
Celebrities like Elton John and George Clooney also called for the boycott:
#LGBT: As from today, gay sex is punishable with death by stoning in Brunei.
