News: No immediate plans for Olympics bid- The UAE

The UAE has no immediate plans to bid for the Olympics, confirmed Shaima Al Zarooni, a senior executive board member on the UAE National Olympic Committee, was quoted as saying today, Wednesday Dec 4th.
“Currently, we don’t see any interest from the leadership. We are more focused on Expo 2020 and on making the event a success,” she said in comments published by Gulf Business News.
She added that Dubai, which won the bid to host Expo 2020 last week, was capable of holding the Olympics.
“We are certainly prepared; if we are capable of hosting Expo 2020, we are definitely prepared to host an Olympics," she said on the sidelines of the Host Cities conference in Dubai.
