Nigeria confirms 5 new cases (including a 6-month-old baby) of #coronavirus, issues #TravelBan on 13 countries

The Federal Government confirms 5 new cases (including a 6-month-old baby) of Coronavirus, issues Travel Ban on 13 countries.

According to the Minister of Health, Dr Ehanire, the 5 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing total number of confirmed cases to 8.
Three of them arrived from the US (2 of them Nigerians, a mother and her 6-week old baby), 2 arrived from the UK (both Nigerians)
Four of them are Nigerians (one a 6-week old baby - youngest victim so far), fifth one a foreign national who came in through the land border — the first case of infection via land border in Nigeria.
He added that one of the five new cases is in Ekiti and the other 4 cases are located in Lagos.
The federal government of Nigeria has banned travel from 13 countries over the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak ravaging the world.
The countries are:
China
Italy
Iran
South Korea
Spain
Japan
France
Germany
Norway
United States of America
United Kingdom
Netherlands and
Switzerland
These countries have been described as “high risk” countries by the presidential task force on the control of coronavirus in Nigeria, which held its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
Nigeria is also temporarily suspending all visas issued to nationals from these countries. Nigerians arriving from these countries will be subjected to supervised isolation for 14 days.
The federal government is also advising all Nigerians to avoid travel to these countries.
This restriction will come into effect from Friday, March 20, 2020, for 4 weeks and is subject to review.
