England are World Champions after winning the most thrilling Final in the history of the competition.

Lord's cricket ground in central London erupted with fireworks and cheering at the culmination of the most nail-biting afternoon's cricket in living memory. The home side have been declared champions for hitting more boundaries today, after England and New Zealand tied not only after 50 overs but in the super over as well. Sent back out to bat New Zealand made 15 off Jofra Archer's bowling to match the 15 Ben Stokes and Jos Butler racked up from their six extra balls at the end of the England innings, which like New Zealand's totalled 241.
