The tweet, which was up for nearly 10 hours before being deleted on Wednesday morning, was confusing because the shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas happened 11 days before, on Sunday, November 5, 2017 and Trump tweeted almost the exact same thing at the time.
And then it dawned on everyone:May God be w/ the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI & law enforcement are on the scene. I am monitoring the situation from Japan.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 5, 2017
Trump got the Texas church mass shooting confused with yet another mass shooting on American soil. A gunman went on a terrifying shooting rampage in Rancho Tehama, California that spanned across multiple sites, including an elementary school, killing four people and wounding several others including students at the school. Yet it seems Trump copied and pasted his previous tweet and forgot to change the name of the city before he hit "send."
The President literally copied and pasted his previous condolences tweet without even bothering to change the name of the city. This is what he thinks "the best words" and "greatest memory" looks like.— Emma Best (@NatSecGeek) November 15, 2017
