Photos: Car Slammed Into Dubai Tram Last Night

A car crashed into the Dubai Tram at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) on Wednesday night, prompting the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to issue a fresh warning of strict penalties.

The driver reportedly jumped a red signal and slammed into the tram at about 8pm.

"Minor accident between Dubai Tram and a vehicle that crossed a red light in JBR. No injuries were sustained," RTA tweeted from their offical account. Operations resumed soon after.
However, this is not the first accident involving the tram. One month before operations officially launched, a car slammed into a tram car during a test run. The accident took place near the Dubai College on Al Sufouh Road. Neither the driver nor anybody else was hurt in the incident.

Dubai resident Rami Saad posted a picture of the incident on Twitter.
