News: The world's largest Apple store to open in Dubai in February

As first reported on Buro 24/7 Middle East in August earlier this year, Apple revealed its plans to open its largest ever store in the UAE. Now, reports have surfaced confirming that the tech giant will debut the impressive Dubai-based store in February 2015.

A source close to Apple's operations in the region has said that the new mega store will open at Mall of the Emirates – which is currently in the midst of a $272 million expansion – in February next year. 

The Mall of the Emirates store will become the world's largest Apple outlet and will be substantially bigger than its current flagship, the Grand Central Store, which is spread over 23,000 sq ft, in New York.

Apple's CEO Tim Cook visited the UAE at the beginning of 2014, meeting with Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed. The Abu Dhabi Apple store is also said to be opening in the first quarter of 2015.
