News: Just In: Actor & comedian, Tracy Morgan in intensive care after fatal six-vehicle accident

UPDATE:

News: Tracy Morgan Released From Rehabilitation Centre, Suing Walmart

Tracy Morgan has been released from a physical rehabilitation centre as he continues to recover from critical injuries sustained from a six-vehicle car accident.
A statement from Morgan’s spokesperson says, “[Tracy] asked me to pass along his sincerest gratitude to everyone who has helped him get to this point.  He would also appreciate some privacy during this crucial point in his recovery.”
The former Saturday Night Live comedian will now undergo an “aggressive outpatient program” from the comfort of his home.

Tracy Morgan is suing Walmart over a deadly crash that left the comedian in critical conditions, CNN reports.
Lawyers acting on Morgan’s behalf filed the complaint on Thursday in New Jersey’s federal court.
"The defendants' negligence was a substantial contributing factor in causing plaintiffs' injuries," Morgan's complaint alleges.
The complaint also claims that Walmart knew or should have known its truck driver, Kevin Roper, had been awake for 24 hours prior to rear-ending Morgan’s limo.
A preliminary report conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board also states the truck was traveling 20 mph over the speed limit.
Roper pleaded not guilty in June to charges of vehicular homicide and assault-by-auto.
In a statement issued by the retailer, Walmart referred to the crash as a "terrible tragedy" and extended its condolences to the victims and their families. "Our thoughts continue to go out to them, their families and friends, as well as to the families and friends of everyone involved, including Mr. McNair who lost his life."
"We are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved. As we've said, we're cooperating fully in the ongoing investigation. We know it will take some time to resolve all of the remaining issues as a result of the accident, but we're committed to doing the right thing for all involved,” the statement read.

Morgan’s assistant Jeffrey Millea and comedian Ardley Fuqua, who are co-plaintiffs in the suit, also sustained critical injuries from the accident. Friend and comedian James McNair died in the crash.

News: Woohooo! Tracy Morgan Released From Hospital

Comedian Tracy Morgan's weekend just got better as his rep has confirmed that he is finally released from the hospital.
According to TMZ, the 30 Rock star departed the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, approximately two weeks after he arrived to the facility in critical condition following a near-tragic New Jersey Turnpike car wreck.
While this is indeed good news for the television and movie star, his journey to recovery is not over as he has been transferred to an unspecified physical rehab center to continue his progress.
"Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks," said spokesman Lewis Kay in a statement.
Following the June 7 accident, Morgan was airlifted to the hospital after suffering a broken leg and a variety of additional injuries after a tractor-trailer smashed into the Mercedes-Benz limo-van that was transporting the comedian and his four friends.
Kevin Roper, a Walmart truck driver, was later charged with vehicular homicide in the late-night crash.  A National Transportation Safety Board report found that Roper was doing 20 mph over the posted speed limit prior to the collision.

Great News: Tracy Morgan is now in a fair condition!

Comedian Tracy Morgan is finally in fair condition this week, following a car crash that left him in critical condition and a fellow comedian dead.
His representative, Lewis Kay, confirmed Morgan’s improving health on Monday.

According to the statement, Jeff Millea, Morgan’s 36-year-old assistant who was also in critical condition after crash, has been upgraded to fair condition as well.

Kevin Roper, the driver of the truck, was charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto. He pleaded not guilty to the charges during an arraignment last week.

UPDATE:

Tracy Morgan is showing "signs of improvement."
The actor, who was involved in a New Jersey highway collision that claimed the life of veteran comedian James McNair and left four injured, remains hospitalized in critical condition, but E! News has learned that the star's medical team is hopeful of his recovery.
"Today was a better day," Morgan's rep said in a statement to E! News. "While Tracy remains in critical, but stable, condition, he continues to show signs of improvement. His medical team remains optimistic that his recovery is progressing. Megan remains by his side and is relaying the countless good wishes and prayers that his family, friends and fans have been sending their way."
The 45-year-old funnyman was riding in a Mercedes Sprinter limo bus on a highway near Cranbury Township when a semi-truck slammed into the vehicle at about 1 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, causing it to overturn.
Another semi-truck, an SUV and two cars were also involved in the accident, which killed a 62-year-old man, authories say. The victim, James McNair, is also a comedian who used the stage name Jimmy Mack.
Kevin Roper, the driver behind the wheel of the truck that plowed into a limo bus carrying the 30 Rock star early Saturday morning, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to one count of vehicular homicide and four counts of assault by auto. If convicted, each count of assault by auto carries a maximum 18-month prison term, while the vehicular homicide charge carries a five- to 10-year prison sentence.
