Forbes 2024 World's Richest People Include Nigeria's Dangote, Adenuga, Rabiu, Otedola

Forbes released its annual roster of the world's richest, with the US boasting a record 813 billionaires worth $5.7 trillion. 

The U.S. boasts a record 813 billionaires worth $5.7 trillion combined, with Elon Musk leading the list and Jeff Bezos following China remains second, with 406 super-rich people, down from 496 last year India came in the third, with a total of 200 billionaires making the list.

The combined wealth of the 10 richest individuals in the world amounts to $1.44 trillion. 

Using data from Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List, we provide a snapshot of the richest people in the world as of February 2024. 

Bernard Arnault overtook Elon Musk as the richest person in 2024 due to a 21% decline in Musk’s wealth, from $245.3 billion to $194.6 billion. 

The billionaire chairman and CEO of the global luxury goods company LVMH runs dozens of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Sephora, and Tiffany & Co. 

The French businessman also has investments in businesses such as Netflix and ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok.Notably, among the most famous newcomers on the list is Taylor Swift, who has amassed an estimated $1.1 billion fortune 17 years into her illustrious career as music's biggest superstar.

Aliko Dangote ($13.4B), Mike Adenuga ($6.7B), Abdulsamad Rabiu ($5.2B), Femi Otedola ($1.4B), are the only Nigerians in Forbes 2024 List of Richest People in the World.
