The 21-year-old, who was also battling a kidney stone, left her fellow gymnasts in awe after her win, with one teammate describing the victory as 'absolutely insane', while others noted that her ability to top the podium even after a sub-par performance is a sign of just how skilled she is - and how much better she is than her competitors. However, despite walking away with a gold medal, Simone was left disappointed with her performance in the competition, which took place in Doha, Qatar, on Thursday, confessing: 'It's not the gymnast that I am, to go out there and kind of bomb a meet like this.
