Photos & Videos: Tiger Tower at the Dubai Marina on fire

Reports of a minor fire in Tiger Tower are emerging.

Another high rise building in Dubai has had to be evacuated, days after the Torch Tower went up in flames for the second time.

The fire at the Tiger Tower on Sunday began on clothes left on a 53rd floor balcony, said Capt. Amer Abdulwahab al-Qahtani of the Dubai Civil Defense.

He said investigators believe either a cigarette or the high temperatures of 43 degrees Celsius ignited the blaze.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which caused no injuries.

However, it rattled nerves as the high-rise is just a block away from the Torch Tower, also in Dubai Marina, an upmarket waterfront district home to some of the world’s tallest buildings.
