2 Nigerian men convicted for raping & robbing a Portuguese male tourist in Dubai

Two Nigerian men had their jail sentences upheld in a ruling by Dubai Criminal Court on Thursday.
The men, 30 and 31 years old, were convicted for sexual assault, theft and breaching the modesty of a person.
The 31-year-old appealed this ruling but this was rejected by the court on Thursday.
They lured an unsuspecting tourist to a hotel room before forcing him to strip naked
The Portuguese tourist was under the impression that he had been in contact with a woman on WhatsApp whom he agreed to meet at a hotel in February.
Upon arrival he was met by the two men who forced him to strip naked and filmed him.
They then threatened to release he footage of him if he did not give them his money and bank cards.
They stole nearly AED 10,000/$2,740 from the victim
They took AED 2,500 in cash and used the victims credit cards to purchase over AED 7,000 in goods.
Police were able to identify the men using the hotel records from their room booking.
They denied the charges against them but were subsequently found guilty and sentenced to one year in jail followed by deportation.
