Angelina Jolie was spotted grabbing a private smoke in Sydney, Australia last week. 

The 39-year-old, who recently underwent a double mastectomy as a preventative measure against cancer, was pictured with a cigarette in-hand on November 17, according to In Touch. 

The smoke followed what appeared to be a dramatic exchange with her husband Brad Pitt. 

The newlyweds were standing on a terrace of the InterContinental Sydney hotel as Brad, 50, could be seen gesturing with his hands before walking away. 

An eyewitness told In Touch: 'When Brad threw up his arms, you could see the frustration on his face. He was clearly exasperated with her.'

The source added: 'They kept talking over each other and putting their hands up in anger. They were upset but getting nowhere. Angie looked like she was on the verge of tears.' 

The Fury star wore a jaunty hat and dark sunglasses as he spoke with his wife. During the exchange Jolie leaned against a railing.

Looking tense and on edge, the actress wore a grey T-shirt as she wrapped a jumper around her waist. She was pictured after her talk with Brad with a cigarette in hand.

Jolie's private smoke comes after the star underwent a double mastectomy last year as a preventative measure against cancer after discovering she carried the defective BRCA1 gene. 

Another insider told InTouch, 'Brad doesn't want her smoking - at all.'

Later that same evening the couple stepped out to a red carpet premiere of Jolie's new film Unbroken.

An eyewitness claimed that the couple looked distant at the event, according to In Touch, before Brad flew off 'in one private jet and Angie in another.' 

Meanwhile, on Tuesday Jolie told Tom Brokaw on the Today Show 'We have more moments where I say, "I'm going to be a better wife.'" 

Adding, humorously: '"I'm going to learn to cook." and [Brad] says, "Oh, honey, know what you're good at."But I do like a, "No, no, no, I'm going to get this wife thing down." He knows my limitations and where I'm a good wife and a good mom.'
