Ok, so we all know that Sade Adu aka Sade is Brit-Nigerian, right?
Good luck to all the nominees!!!!
Honorees will be announced in April, with the annual induction ceremony set for the fall.
Ten of the 15 nominees — Carey, Cher, Foreigner, Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Kravitz, Oasis, O’Connor, Osbourne and Sade — are on the ballot for the first time. Osbourne, it’s worth noting, has already been inducted as a member of Black Sabbath, but he’s a first-time nominee as a solo artist.
“This remarkable list of nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “Continuing in the true spirit of rock & roll, these artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
The 15 nominees will look to follow in the footsteps of the 2023 class of Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Sheryl Crow, Rage Against the Machine, The Spinners and Willie Nelson.
The induction ceremony in the fall will stream live on Disney+ (which took over from HBO last year), with an edited version of the ceremony airing on ABC at a later date.
