The reason for his immense joy was that the cream of Nigerian society from all walks of life including Nigeria's Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Africa's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku and Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu came to honour him during a special thanksgiving service held at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos.
The service which also coincided with the church' s harvest celebration was a lively session of hymns, prayers and words of exhortation.
In a brief interview with Ovation, Prince Obaigbena said that he was thankful to God that he was alive, well and healthy enough to mark the day.
While thanking everyone who made out time to attend the service, he noted that the birthday celebration will be rounded off on Monday with an evening of ideas, music, drinks and dinner.
Other guests at the church service included Mr. Jim Ovia, Chief Uche Secondus, Dr. Oba Otudeko, Mr Segun Agabaje, Mr Jimi Agbaje, Chief ABC Orji, Mr Segun Awolowo, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Mr Victor Osibodu, Alhaji Kashim Imam, Mr Tunji Bello, Mr Segun Awolowo Jnr., Chike Ogeah, Mr Bolaji Abdullahi, Dame Comfort, Chike Ogeah & wife, Dan Akpovwa & wife, Doris, Mr John Momoh, Mr Seye Kehinde, Mr Bolaji Abdullahi, Mr Louis Odion, Kola Ologbondiyan, Dr Reuben Abati, Mr Wale Edun and Mr Lanre Arogundade, Mr Charles Aigbe and Mr Ramon Nasir.
Hours later, the Obaigbena family hosted guests to a sumptuous lunch at The Sky Restaurant, Eko Hotel. Of course here, more guests were in attendance including Chairman, Ovation Media Group, Bashorun Dele Momodu, Governor Kayode Fayemi, Chief Willie Anumudu and wife, Nkiru, Mr Chike Chikeluba, Mr Anselm Tabansi, Emeka Onwuka, Mr David Edevbie, Mr Dere Otubu, Mrs Helen Prest-Ajayi and Mrs Bunmi Tejuoso.
