Photos: Plane crash averted in Abu Dhabi this a.m

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, an Air-India flight from Abu Dhabi skidded off the runway at Kochi airport, it has been reported.

Due to heavy rains, the plane veered off the taxiway and rolled part-way into a drain. 

A statement from Air India Express was released: “During heavy rain last night at about 2:40 IST, while entering the bay from the taxiway at Kochi, our aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, skidded off the taxiway and the wheels got stuck in a storm water drain on the side of the taxiway opposite the international airport terminal."
No passengers or crew were injured. 
The plane has been grounded pending investigation.
