According to TMZ, Takeoff, Offset and Quavo were traveling in first class on the flight out of Atlanta and had fallen asleep. Takeoff’s bag was on the floor and not in an overhead bin, as required by FAA regulations.
The plane taxied to the runway, but the pilot aborted takeoff and returned to the gate, where Takeoff was told to leave the plane. The remainder of the musical crew de-planed in a show of solidarity.
A Delta spokesperson told the website that Migos repeatedly ignored crew member instructions to stow the carry-on and buckle seatbelts. They have since been rebooked on another flight and are scheduled to land in Iowa about 9 p.m. Central. The website for their performance site lists a show time of 7 p.m.
Video taken by Migos’ manager shows the group calmly trying to figure out what happened, while their manager threatens to sue the airline.
