Photos: Chief Obafemi Awolowo is remembered & celebrated on his posthumous birthday

He would have been 108 years old!!!

On Monday the 6th of March 2017, family, friends and well wishers gathered at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, VI, Lagos for a memorial lecture to mark Chief Obafemi Awolowo's would-have-been 108th birthday.
His daughter, Dr Tokunboh Awolowo-Dosunmu and grandson, Olusegun Awolowo were notably present.

Today we remember Papa Obafemi Awolowo's birthday, a gift to the Yoruba race, a gift to Nigeria , a gift to Africa, a gift to the World. All in that order . Legacy assured and must be ensured

Chief Awolowo was born in Ikenne on the 6th of March, 1909 and died in Ikenne on the 9th of May, 1987.
