A sense of indignation and mourning dominated Brazilian soccer fans Saturday following the news that forward Neymar would not play for the remaining week of the World Cup.
President Dilma Rousseff herself wrote a letter to the hospitalized player, saying her heart had been “injured” when she saw the look of pain on the young player’s face.
“I know that, like all Brazilians, you will never give up, and sooner than we imagine, you will be back, filling our soul with joy and our history with success,” she wrote.
