Angelina Jolie is following George Clooney’s lead this week by taking legal action against the Daily Mail over the publishing of an unflattering video, the London Times reports.
A 16-minute National Enquirer video showing a tired and emaciated Jolie was published to the Daily Mail's website accompanied by the headline, “Bloodshot hollow eyes, emaciated arms and rambling on the phone: Haunting video of Angelina Jolie the heroin addict." The video has since been removed and the headline, changed to a more flattering opener: “How Angelina went from heroin... to heroine: Jolie overcomes troubled past to become top Hollywood actress, mother-of-six and UN envoy.”
The bleak clip captures a less-than-glamorous Jolie pacing back and forth while talking on the phone. Reportedly filmed by her then drug dealer Franklin Meyer, the article also states the actress was speaking with her father, actor Jon Voight.
Jolie is reportedly claiming that the Daily Mail's posting of the video is a “gross violation of her privacy.”
Jolie’s close friend and fellow actor George Clooney has also publicly slammed the Daily Mail this week with an op-ed piece published in USA Today.
