Selena Gomez dethrones Kylie Jenner as Instagram’s most followed female

Selena Gomez is the new Queen of Instagram after officially dethroning Kylie Jenner as the app's most followed female.

On 20 December 2021, American media personality Kylie earned the crown for the most followers on Instagram for a female, with 290,683,268 followers. 

But on 23 February 2023, she was dethroned by pop star Selena, who surpassed Kylie’s following with a whopping 381,580,525 followers. The Kylie Cosmetics mogul now trails closely behind with 379 million fans. Selena was taking a hiatus from Instagram but returned to the social media platform stronger than ever. 

Selena’s recent record means she ranks fourth overall for the most followers on Instagram, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Leo Messi, and Instagram’s own account ahead of her.

As I write, Gomez has 389 million Instagram followers while Jenner has 379 million!
