A-list stars went overboard with outrageous costumes at the Met Gala on Monday night in an effort to embrace the night's 'Camp' theme and fans had a field day on social media creating a host of hilarious memes.

Serena Williams' gown was likened to a cheese and ham omelette while Celine Dion's dress was compared to a pasta drying rack and her headpiece matched with a dandelion after her appearance at NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art for the opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit. In other hilarious observations, Charli XCX's frilly gown was compared to a loofah, while Zendaya arrived dressed as Cinderella in a Tommy Hilfiger gown with users quick to cheekily re-cast the Disney classic with other guests from the New York extravaganza in hilarious memes - as Kylie and Kendall Jenner topped the hit list.
