The UAE passport has just been ranked the most powerful passport in the world

The UAE now has the most powerful passport in the world!
It achieved the number 1 rank on Passport Index on Saturday, December 1, 2018, just in time for UAE's 47th National Day. The achievement is now fittingly being hailed as a tribute to to the legacy of the Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed with 2018 being the Year of Zayed. Emiratis with UAE passport can travel to 167 countries without the need for pre-visa requirements, which is basically 84% of the number of countries listed in the index. A thrilled HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai congratulated everyone on Twitter & Instagram:
He said: “On the glorious UAE National Day, our achievements are getting doubled. The Passport Index has just ranked the UAE passport as Number 1 globally, with visa-free entry to 167 countries worldwide. Congratulations to the UAE and its people and big thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s teams led by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed.”

Burj Khalifa, too, was lit up to mark this landmark achievement:
The UAE passport was on 27th position in December 2016. Cut to October 2018 when it notched up to rank 4...all thanks to the UAE's positive diplomacy. Four more countries were added to the UAE list as of December 1, 2018 that helped bolster the rank further.

Singapore and Germany now rank second with 166 countries
