Ne-Yo and wife Crystal Smith have welcomed their second child.

Smith gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Roman Alexander-Raj Smith, after being rushed into an emergency surgery on Thursday in Los Angeles. 'I had an ironclad birth plan and I was determined to do it my way,' Crystal said on Instagram. 'But God had other plans apparently.' Ne-Yo and wife Crystal Smith have welcomed their second child.

Smith gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Roman Alexander-Raj Smith, after being rushed into an emergency surgery on Thursday in Los Angeles. 'I had an ironclad birth plan and I was determined to do it my way,' Crystal said on Instagram. 'But God had other plans apparently.' She went on to explain that a routine doctor visit landed her in surgery. 'Roman wasn’t doing well in my womb and had to be taken immediately or the doctors feared the worst,' Smith said.

Roman was born at 2:11 p.m. on Thursday at a hospital in Santa Monica. He came out weighing 6 pounds and 15 ounces. Ne-Yo and Crystal also share their son Shaffer Chimere Jr., age two. The couple have been married since 2016.

Ne-Yo was formerly linked to actress Monyetta Shaw. Together they share Madilyn, seven, and Mason, age six.
