Following the announcement of holiday for government employees across Eid Al-Fitr, private sector entitlement for the holiday has also been confirmed.
Eid 2017 holiday for private sector revealed
Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, the minister of human resources and Emiratisation, confirmed via state news agency WAM that the first two days of Eid have been declared as paid holiday for private sector employees in the UAE.
It is widely expected that Eid will fall on Sunday June 25, based on the current trajectory of the moon, meaning the final day of Ramadan 2017 will be Saturday June 24. Last week, the government confirmed federal the Eid Al Fitr holiday will begin on June 24 for federal employees.
The end date of the holiday depends on exactly when Eid starts – if it falls on Sunday June 25, work will resume on Wednesday June 28. Meanwhile, if Eid falls on Monday June 26, work will resume on Sunday July 2.
