A female pickpocket was caught at the Grand Mosque in Makkah with more than SR100,000 in cash, gold, mobile phones and women's bags, an online paper reported.
Field teams working with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Makkah arrested the woman, of Arab descent, after receiving several reports with the same description.Accordingly, teams of the department were ordered to follow the cases and caught the suspect was caught red-handed. She was residing in a hotel near the Grand Mosque, the media said.
Investigators found SR38,431, $780, 5,140 Egyptian pounds, 19 mobile phones, one laptop, 13 hand watches, a gold set worth SR12,500, eight gold rings, three gold bracelets including one worth SR11,000, and several women's handbag accessories upon searching her hotel room, the paper said.
