The 2014 GLAAD Media Awards were held Saturday night (May 03) in the historic Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NYC. The cast of “Orange is the New Black” was honored at the awards where the Netflix hit was named Outstanding Comedy Series.
George Takei received the Vito Russo award for his efforts at promoting equality on behalf of the LBGT community.
Also in attendance were Naomi Watts, Kylie Minogue, Kacey Musgraves, and more stars.
The ceremony, now in its 25th year, followed last month’s West Coast edition, where
Jennifer Lopez was feted with the Vanguard Award.
