News: So Beyoncé , Rihanna & Lupita didn't make the cut in Maxim's Hot 100 top 10, in fact no black woman did

Well, what a difference a year makes, the Maxim Hot 100 list for 2014 is out and it has dropped Miley Cyrus to number 25 on the list. Last year, the 21 year-old singer placed a somewhat controversial number one. The decision to place a, then, 20 year-old in the top spot was not made any more palatable by complaints that Cyrus looked too much like Justin Bieber to be considered sexy.
Apparently the issue was not really that Miley looked like Justin in “drag.” It seems that the problem had to do with her lack of “curve” appeal. The 2013 competition, with the exception of Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, all had a lot more curves than the winner. It should be noted that last year Selena Gomez placed number two and Swift number 13.
The former Hannah Montana was knocked out of the top spot by the South African Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel. This stunning blonde was quite excited to have grabbed the first place spot on the list. The 25 year-old top model said that it was a “great honor” to be number one.
It seems that this year, women who model Victoria’s Secret sexy underwear, aka lingerie, are in and actresses, singers, and catwalk models are out. Although to be fair that does seem to be for the top spot only. Scarlett Johansson came in at number two and Katy Perry was voted number three.
The Maxim Hot 100 2014 list has dropped Miley Cyrus to number 25 but the Bangerz performer is not the only one of last years “youngsters” to lose ground on the annual list of the world’s hottest women. Selena Gomez, as mentioned before, placed number two on the 2013 list. This year she dropped to number 19 which, to be fair, is a lot higher than her controversial peer in the music world.
Interestingly enough, there was not as much of an outcry last year when the, then, 20 year-old Gomez was voted number two in the contest. This may have had much to do with the lack of controversy surrounding the actress and singer. Most of Selena’s “negative” press had to do with her on-again-off-again romance with bad-boy Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.
Cyrus, on the other hand, seemed to let the 2013 Maxim win of the number one spot go to her head. Last year marked the beginning of the former Disney star’s concentration on sexualizing her image to the nth degree. Showing ever more skin in photoshoots, acting in an oversexualized manner at the MTV awards last year and appearing naked in her Wrecking Ball music video were just a few of her tasteless incidents from last year.
In 2014, the We Can’t Stop singer has included giant inflatable male genitalia in her Bangerz tour. She either rides these huge male organs or “makes love to them orally” on stage. Cyrus also mimicked performing fellatio on a male dancer who was wearing a Bill Clinton mask.
It seems that Miley Cyrus has learned the hard way that being number one on the Maxim Hot 100 list in 2013 doesn’t go very far toward winning again in 2014, in fact it only serves to put you at number 25. Perhaps now the singer can relax her tramp act and begin to behave with a bit more decorum. As Candice Swanepoel has shown, being sexy has nothing to do with behaving in a trashy manner.
