Stars of all kinds gathered in Phoenix, Arizona on April 12 in honour of Muhammed Ali’s "Celebrity Fight Night" fundraiser.
Michael Buble, who was honoured with a 2014 Muhammed Ali Celebrity Fight Night Award, brought the crowd to their feet with an unforgettable performance of three of his hit songs: “Feeling Good,” “Haven’t Met You Yet” and “Save The Last Dance.”
Other honourees included Robert Di Nero and philanthropist John Paul Dejoria.
Throughout the night, attendees had the chance to bid on extraordinary live auction prizes. The best prize of the night was a special evening featuring dinner with Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal, and Joe Torre in New York — two of these were auctioned off for a whopping $500 000! Other prizes included a suborbital space experience and a private dinner at the home of Reba McEntire.
The unforgettable night raised a total of $8 million for Muhammed Ali’s Parkinson Centre at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, as well as many other worthy charities. Over its 20 years, the event has raised $95 million for charities.
Next year’s fundraiser, taking place in Italy, will be the first international location for the fundraiser.
