According to Delta State police, they have already arrested several suspects and intend to uncover their hideout soon.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba insisted that no ransom should be paid, adding that one of the arrested men confessed to having participated in the kidnap planning.
Aduba said the kidnap was carried out by Ijaw kinsmen of Edwin Clark and the police would burst the syndicate.
It would be recalled that Ebikeme Clark was abducted on Wednesday evening by 7 armed men at Kiagbodo in Burutu LGA, Delta State Nigeria.

News Update: Kidnappers release Chief Edwin Clark's son, Ebikeme
Ebikeme was released last night by his abductors and has since reunited with his family, according to SaharaReports.
According to reports, DSP Tina Kalu, the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command confirmed that Ebikeme was released around midnight on Saturday. The victim was dropped at Bomadi waterside by the kidnappers.
Adaba said the details of the circumstances of the release were still sketchy and promised to provide further explanation on the matter later.
Yesterday, Chief Edwin Clark, made a passionate plea for his release. Saying he was not angry about the kidnapping because it is part of the things people ought to live with.
The kidnappers had earlier demanded a ransom of N50 million but there was no confirmation about the payment of the ransom as of the time of filing this report.
