News: Missing Swiss tourist in Dubai found

The Dubai Police have found the Swiss tourist who went missing on Monday afternoon after he left his hotel room in Al Barsha.

Robert Louis Pittet, 66, was found by the police about 18 km away from the hotel late on Tuesday night, said a senior police official.

His wife Mirela Pittet confirmed to a newspaper that her husband is back and is safe. #SoHappyForThem!

Police had been searching for a Swiss tourist who went missing from his hotel room on Monday afternoon after his distraught wife appealed for help. The couple came to Dubai with a group of tourists on January 19 and stayed with the tourist group in the Grand Excelsior Hotel in Barsha.

In the evening, realising her husband hadn’t come back, she called the police who came to the hotel and took details. She had told her consulate about Louis' sudden disappearance.

The couple is due to leave Dubai on January 27.
