The General Overseer of The Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F Kumuyi during this year’s edition of the annual National December Convention of the Deeper Life Bible Church which held on Saturday Dec 21st warned his members against celebrating Christmas, because according to him it is idolatrous and unscriptural.
Kumuyi said:“We don’t celebrate Christmas. It actually came from idolatrous background. That is why you don’t hear us sing what they call Christmas carol, Never! We always say it is the December retreat. We are only gathering together because it is the holiday period and love the lord more, and rededicate ourselves more.
“When you find anybody coming in, or any leader, trying to introduce the idolatry of mystery Babylon, that they call Christmas and you want to bring all the Christmas carol saying that is the day that Jesus was born, and you don’t find that in the Acts of the Apostles or in the early church, then you don’t find that in the church either. If you don’t know that before, now you know.”
Kumuyi is not far from d truth. Christmas has an unscriptural origin. That day December 25th, was a day set for d celebration of d god of d sun, now d Roman Catholic who where d world empire then now brought it into d church bcos the didn't have celebrations as christian back then other than d Lords evening meal. Why decide to choose a pegan day of celebration for celebrating some1 that sacrifice his life for us? If Jesus birthday celebration was very important or scriptural, why did d bible not show us Jesus parents, Jesus or his early deciples not celebrate it? The bible say, " do not add or remove from d bible". Must u celebrate because every1 is celebrating, must u follow trend, remember d bible say Jesus was different. Why lie to ur kids about fales believe of Santa Clus n so on, u are actually teaching ur kids to lie because it has no bible base n as a parent, u actually feels bad when ur child lies to u. We as christians are suppose to follow Jesus examples not creat befitting laws n rules just to suit our selfish desires. Christmas has no bible support or base, pls stop celebrating because we are actually making Satan happy because if christmas is a celebration of d birth of Jesus, all these bad desperations n sad news that follows this December n Xmas celebration. As a christian, always do ur own scriptural research, don't follow follow just ppl are doing it, pls let's be wise, prayerful, watchful n smart because Satan is not happy he is going to be distroyed completely soon by Jesus christ. DeleteDecember 25th might not be the day the Lord was born but nontheless you can not say you won't celebrate his birth in the world. It shows gratitude. And that is why the giving of gifts at this time are meant to be tokens of appreciation in remembrance of the Love and Mercy the Almighty Father Granted us in allowing His Son incanate on earth. I think people should rethink the way they read the bible because in the bible it states clearly the earthly parents of Jesus Mary and Joseph.

DeleteHis earthly parents did what? If we say Jesus is special to us, why choose only 1 day in 365days to celebrate a great man as Jesus? Remember God hates idolatry, do u think Jesus himself is happy with this act of idolatry? Jesus deserves more of pure worship from our hearts than lip service. My point is if Xmas was very special why did Jesus parents or Jesus himself or his early disciples celebrate his birthday n why did d bible not show or record such an " important event"?
