Alexander Ivanov, the son of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s Presidential chief of staff Sergei Ivanov, drowned last week at an unnamed location while holidaying the emirates.
The drowning was confirmed by Vnesheconombank, the Russian bank where the 37-year-old worked.
"The bank has suffered a great loss. We have lost a true professional — an uncontested authority in his sphere. We will always remember Alexander Sergeyevich as an amazingly cheerful and modest person, possessing bright and deep personal qualities. We have lost a real friend and companion," the statement said.
RBC Daily reported sources as saying Ivanov was swept out to sea in high waves while swimming with his daughter. Rescuers managed to save his daughter but were unable to reach Ivanov in time.
Sergei Ivanov served as Russian Minister of Defence from March 2001 to February 2007, Deputy Prime Minister from November 2005 to February 2007, and the First Deputy Prime Minister from February 2007 to May 2008. He was appointed Chief of Staff Presidential Administration in December 2011.
God rest your soul Alexander Ivanov!!!
