If you've been on Twitter lately, you're probably just as confused about #AlexfromTarget as we are.
The hashtag started trending today, Monday November 03, after a picture of the Target worker, apparently named Alex, was posted over the weekend. It's not clear who posted the image, but the photo began going viral as many were talking about Alex's good looks.

Alex from Target's Twitter account has jumped up to more than 350,000 followers in one day.
A fake Twitter account and spinoff hashtags are even popping up now, such as #StevefromStarbucks, #KieranfromTmobile and #MattfromRedRobin. Photos of Alex on the news are also going viral.
Amid rumors Alex was fired from Target, the retail giant tweeted Monday morning, "We heart Alex, too!" with a photo of a Target nametag with 'Alex' on it. Now, who's taking bets for when we'll see our first Alex from Target commercial?
Target has said they are in contact with Alex’s store and family, but no comment has been made beyond that. They added they were “proud to have a great team” and lent their support to their employee on Twitter.

All this happened without anyone really knowing Alex’s full name, age or location. Yet, somehow, he now has a fandom of his own and is now getting the kind of attention saved for members of One Direction. One Twitter account reported to belong to him has tweeted the following:
Am i famous now?
